Process of Collectible Game Board
Reproduction and Original Designed Game Boards are a labor of love to me. Each handcrafted game board takes approximately three weeks to complete from the beginning - to the end - many timely steps have been taken, from the hand drawing and hand painting of each piece, to the very all consuming finishing process - numerous sandings - stains and waxes that have been layered time after time to achieve the aged finish. Because of the intricate methods that I use the number of pieces that I can create each year are very limited.
I often think of all the hands and hard work it took to bring this piece of wood from far away Russia to my own Appalachian mountains to be painted. The molding on each game board is made from Poplar and grown in our local area. When my hands are rubbing the final finish on the piece, I like to think that somebody will love this board, appreciate the craft, but mostly bring a smile to a face or a memory to a heart. In my small way I am able to touch others hands.
Each piece is hand crafted in the Appalachian mountains and carries my signature along with my hand-print to assure you that it has been created by me alone.
